About Lyndal Johnston The Travelling Celebrant
Lyndal Johnston trades as The Travelling Celebrant and works with couples across the Hunter Valley. She describes herself as a wordsmith, and her ceremonies are built around the couple's own story so the words sound like them rather than a script. The aim is a ceremony that is creative and fun while still feeling meaningful, with Lyndal looking after the details so guests remember it for the right reasons. Weddings are the core of the work, and the format is flexible. Some couples only need the legal essentials, others want a fully written ceremony with readings, rituals and vows, and Lyndal shapes each one to suit. She is LGBTQI inclusive and also leads commitment ceremonies, renewals of vows and name days for babies and adults, as well as life celebrations and memorials. For couples marrying at home or on a property, the pop-up wedding option takes care of the setting as well as the celebrant. The kit runs to 28 dressed chairs with sashes, arbours and silk flowers, plus rugs, aisle runners, parasols and clear umbrellas, and a welcome sign can be made to order. Beach ceremonies work best on nearby grass, since chairs do not suit sand. Drone shots and live footage of the ceremony can be arranged at extra cost, subject to the weather. To check availability, send your names, wedding date and ceremony location through the contact form or call Lyndal directly.

Frequently asked questions
Does Lyndal Johnston do legal-only weddings?
Yes. Her wedding services run from a simple legal-only ceremony up to a complete, fully personalised package, so you can book just the legal essentials if that suits your plans.
What comes with a pop-up wedding?
The celebrant plus a ceremony setting: up to 28 dressed chairs with sashes, arbours and silk flowers, plus rugs, aisle runners, parasols and clear umbrellas, with a welcome sign available. Props start with an arbour and rug, and you add what you need.
Can we have a pop-up wedding on the beach?
Chairs do not work well on sand, so beach weddings are handled differently. Lyndal suggests a grassy spot close to the beach for a pop-up setup.
Does Lyndal perform vow renewals and commitment ceremonies?
Yes. Alongside weddings she leads commitment ceremonies, renewals of vows and name days for babies and adults, and she is LGBTQI inclusive.
Will Lyndal travel to our Hunter Valley venue?
Yes. She works across the Hunter Valley and travels beyond it. Pop-up wedding prices change for travel over 100 km, so include your venue or location when you enquire.
