The Tropic is a Mediterranean-leaning seafood restaurant on the ground floor at 2 Scenic Highway, Terrigal, looking straight out to the water. Its kitchen is built around a wood-fired oven, and the menu leans on fresh seafood, grilled meats and a broad wine list. The restaurant trades for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday and runs private events alongside, by day or by night. There are three ways to book it. The private dining room takes 22 guests seated or 50 standing, which suits a milestone birthday dinner or engagement drinks. The private dining area is semi-exclusive, with room for 80 seated or 120 at a cocktail party. For a wedding reception or a large company function, the whole restaurant can be taken exclusively for up to 160 seated or 280 standing. Glazing runs from floor to ceiling along the ocean side, so the view comes with every space, and there is ramp and lift access. Event food comes several ways. Shared menus are priced at $80, $110 and $135 per person, building from olives, hummus and burrata through to snapper, wagyu flank and roast potatoes, with oysters and cured meats on the top tier. There is also a plated alternate-serve menu with three choices per course, a canapé list, and grazing stations for oysters and seafood, antipasti, charcuterie and cheese. Groups of 50 or more can add a beverage package of spritzes, sparkling, wine and tap beer.
