About The Surf Club Avoca Beach
The Surf Club Avoca Beach is the restaurant, bar and function space of the Avoca Beach surf life saving club, on Level 1 at 10 Vine Street. It sits directly above the beach, so the dining room and verandahs face the ocean, and a lift runs from the carpark entrance to the first floor for guests who can't manage the stairs. The restaurant and bar open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, and the same team runs private events. The club's floorplan shows several areas that can be booked: The Hall, a large open room with a stage at one end for bands or speeches; The Restaurant; The Balcony and The Deck along the ocean side, the deck with a fireplace; and a club room beside the bar. For weddings the hall is pitched as a blank canvas you can style yourself, with flexible seating and enough floor for dancing, and the covered verandahs suit sunset drinks between courses. Events can run from small gatherings up to full-venue functions. Catering comes from the club's own kitchen, with menus built around each booking and dietary needs looked after. Grazing tables and feast-style menus are among the options, and the bar pours cocktails, wine and beer, with bar tabs available. TVs, a projector, a sound system and a microphone are on hand. A $500 deposit holds the date, final numbers are due four weeks out, evening events finish at midnight, and minimum spends vary with the space chosen.

The floorplan lists The Hall with its stage, The Restaurant, The Balcony, The Deck and a club room near the bar. Functions range from small groups in one area to hiring the whole first floor.
Is there a minimum spend?
Yes, but it isn't published. It depends on the space you book, can rise on peak dates and public holidays, and the functions manager confirms it when you enquire.
Can we bring our own food or drinks?
No outside food or drink is allowed, as the club's kitchen and bar cater every event. A wedding cake is the exception, with a $2 per person cake service fee.
What AV is available?
The club has large TVs and a projector for slideshows or presentations, a sound system with a microphone for speeches, and a stage area for live entertainment.
How do bookings and payments work?
A $500 deposit is invoiced to secure the date and is due within three days. Final numbers and menu choices are needed four weeks out, and full payment is due shortly after the final invoice. A $1,500 bond applies to venue hire.

One of my favourite spots on the Central Coast, balcony views are perfect on a nice sunny day. Pints are cold and very well priced and the food is really good, had one of the best beef burgers.
