About The Lakes Hotel
The Lakes Hotel is a heritage-listed art deco pub at 201 The Entrance Road in The Entrance, trading since 1940. Its interiors take their cue from the local beach culture, with a coastal palette and a casual, contemporary fit-out, and the pub runs a bistro, sports areas and weekend entertainment alongside its functions. Parties can choose from four areas, all with no space hire charge, for private or semi-private events. The Beer Garden is fully covered, with greenery, ambient lighting and good airflow, and holds 80 seated or in a casual cocktail set-up. The Tiled Lounge, also for 80, is a lighter, architect-designed lounge with a range of seating options. The Sports Bar takes 100 and suits birthdays, with room for karaoke, a band or a DJ. The largest is The Front Bar, which holds 120 and comes with its own bar and toilets, plus space for a DJ, a dance floor and karaoke. Any of the areas can be decorated to suit the occasion. Food is kept simple. Guests can order from the bistro menu on the night or ahead of time, which works well for sit-down groups of up to 70, or you can pre-order party platters for a cocktail-style event, from vegetarian and classic pies and sausage rolls to seafood, grill and roast chicken platters. Drinks run on a bar tab set to your budget or on a pay-as-you-go basis. The functions team can also arrange a DJ or band, balloons and decorations from $30, a photographer and security. A $200 deposit secures the booking and can be used as bar tab credit on the day.
