About Celebrant Victoria
Celebrant Victoria is the business of Ann Flockhart, a civil celebrant who has been marrying couples for more than ten years. She lives in the Dixons Creek valley and works across the Yarra Valley, at winery ceremonies, garden and park settings, restaurants, heritage homes and function centres, or in private backyards. Ann's ceremonies are built around the couple. At a first meeting, usually held on a weekend at her home office, she explains the legal steps and talks through what you would like included – readings by family or friends, rituals, even children or pets. The ceremony can be as formal or as simple as you want. About six weeks before the wedding she sends a draft, and the two of you refine it by email until you are happy. What you approve is what she delivers on the day, so there are no surprises. A rehearsal at the venue a few days beforehand can be arranged to walk the bridal party through their places. On the day Ann arrives at least 30 minutes early to set up her PA and check sound. Afterwards she registers the marriage online and posts the paperwork, and couples receive a presentation certificate and a copy of their ceremony to keep.

Frequently asked questions
How do we start planning with Ann?
Send an enquiry to arrange an obligation-free meeting. Ann usually meets couples on weekends at her home office in the valley, and the first meeting takes about an hour.
What paperwork is needed?
Ann prepares the Notice of Intended Marriage, which must be signed at least one month before the wedding. She needs photo ID plus passports or birth certificates, and a divorce or death certificate if either partner was married before.
Can couples living overseas book her?
Yes. First meetings can be held by video call, and the notice can be witnessed overseas by an authorised officer such as a consular official or notary public, then sent to Ann.
When will we see our ceremony?
Around six weeks before the wedding, or earlier if you like, Ann sends a draft. You exchange changes by email, and the approved version is exactly what she delivers.
What happens after the ceremony?
You receive a presentation certificate and a keepsake copy of the ceremony. Ann then registers the marriage online and emails you the details to apply for the official certificate.
