About Dandenong Ranges Weddings
Dandenong Ranges Weddings is run by Rosalind Mackay, a civil celebrant who lives in the hills and has spent many years in the wedding industry. She set the business up to offer couples a smaller, calmer and more affordable way to marry, drawing on local cake makers, florists, photographers and hair and makeup artists. The simplest option is a celebrant-only ceremony at a place you choose. Rosalind meets you in person or by video call, completes the Notice of Intended Marriage, writes a ceremony for you and brings an amp for music and a presentation certificate on the day. For couples who want more taken care of, elopement and micro wedding packages add flowers, a photographer, hair and makeup, and stays in cottages or guesthouses around Sassafras, Olinda and Mount Dandenong. Ceremonies can be held in gardens, under a gazebo or in a 1920s chapel, with witnesses supplied if needed. There is also a surprise wedding option. The team arrives quietly at your party, home or picnic, sets up, and turns the gathering into a ceremony at the right moment, with a celebrant, photographer and bouquet included.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a celebrant-only ceremony cost?
The Pure and Simple ceremony is $1,100. You supply the location, and it includes the celebrant, an amp for music, a presentation certificate and all the legal requirements.
How much notice is needed for an elopement?
An elopement can be organised with one month's notice, which is the minimum time needed to lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage before the wedding.
What documents do we need?
You need birth certificates or passports plus photo ID such as a driver's licence. Anyone married before also needs a divorce or death certificate, or the ceremony cannot go ahead.
Can witnesses be supplied?
Yes. Couples can bring two witnesses aged over 18, or the team can supply witnesses, which suits secret weddings and couples travelling in for the day.
How does the surprise wedding work?
The team arrives discreetly at your party, home or event space and sets up. When the moment is right an announcement is made and the gathering becomes your ceremony, with celebrant, photographer and bouquet included.
