About Anita's Theatre
Anita's Theatre stands on Lawrence Hargrave Drive in Thirroul and has been part of the town for more than a hundred years. First known as King's Theatre, it has worked over the decades as a cinema, a roller-skating rink and a stage, and it keeps the decoration to show for it: patterned carpets, gilded mouldings, red drapes and chandeliers. Today the building is also hired out for private and corporate events. There are two function spaces. The King's Room is the smaller and more intimate of the two, holding up to 120 guests standing, 80 seated or 50 in a conference layout; it comes with a ceiling PA and one microphone and can be booked by itself or together with the auditorium. The auditorium is the large hall, with a polished floor for the main event and tiered seating at the rear looking down over it. It takes up to 800 standing or in theatre rows, 300 in a conference set-up or 250 at banquet tables. Taking over the whole building gives exclusive use of both rooms, linked together, for up to 800 guests. The venue lists drinks packages for functions, along with AV, lighting and production options for presentations, product launches, premieres, conferences and gala dinners.
