About White Horse
White Horse is a pub on Crown Street in Surry Hills that has been stripped back and rebuilt as a restaurant downstairs with a public bar, a private event room and a garden terrace upstairs. It runs a dedicated events team and takes everything from casual group drinks to full takeovers of the building. The Blue Room on level 1 is the main private room. It works as a private dining space for up to 32 seated, or, opened up to the rest of the bar floor, as a cocktail party space for around 50. The upstairs bar has low tables, leather tub chairs and a green marble bar top, and it spills onto a terrace filled with plants. Downstairs, the restaurant can be booked exclusively, and the site also lists a private dining room seating up to 28. Take the whole building and you get both levels, two serviced bars, two kitchens, the courtyard and a balcony, with capacity of up to 200 guests in a mix of seating and standing room. Groups in the restaurant dine from share-style set menus: a standard menu at $88 per person, a vegetarian version at $85, and premium menus at $120 and $110. Custom menus and drinks packages can be arranged through the events team. The venue is fully licensed and does not allow BYO. For bigger events, DJs, entertainment and music can be organised, and AV and flowers are sourced through a recommended supplier.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can White Horse hold for a private event?
Hiring both levels exclusively gives you room for up to 200 guests, mixing casual seating with standing space. The Blue Room on its own seats 32, or holds about 50 as a cocktail party with the bar floor.
What do group menus cost?
Shared set menus start at $85 per person for the vegetarian menu and $88 for the standard menu, with premium menus at $110 and $120. Tables of seven or more in the restaurant dine from a set menu.
Can we bring our own cake?
Yes. In the restaurant there is no cakeage when your group is on a set menu or orders dessert; otherwise it is $10 per person. Cakes brought to the upstairs bar are charged at $50 each.
Is BYO allowed?
No. White Horse is fully licensed, so all drinks come from the bar. Custom drinks packages can be set up for events.
Can we have a DJ or entertainment?
Yes. For larger events the team can arrange DJs, entertainment and music, and AV and floral styling can be booked through their recommended supplier.
