About Smoke @ Barangaroo House
Smoke is the rooftop bar on level two of Barangaroo House, the three-storey venue at 35 Barangaroo Avenue on the edge of the harbour. Below it are Rekōdo, a vinyl bar and restaurant with Japanese-leaning food, and House Bar at street level. Wynyard Station is a short walk away and ferries run from the Barangaroo wharf. Smoke admits guests aged 18 and over only, which makes it a natural fit for adult celebrations. The rooftop can be booked in pieces or as a whole. The Smoke Indoor Lounge, with plush seating and moody lighting, takes 35 guests cocktail-style. Out on the undercover balcony, the South section holds 40 to 60, the North-West section 70 to 90, and a smaller two-section area on the North-West side takes 45. Smoke Exclusive gives you the entire level, lounge and balcony together, for up to 250 guests with a dedicated bar, a microphone for speeches, a smoking area and the option of bringing in a DJ or live act. Every level of the building has wheelchair access and an accessible bathroom. Catering is by canapé package with a minimum of 20 guests: six pieces for $50 per person, eight for $65, nine for $72 and eleven for $80, mixing items such as bang bang chicken, kingfish tartare, bao and sliders. Drinks packages start at $65 per person for two hours on the Standard list and reach $180 for four hours on the Premium list, or you can run a bar tab with a limit you set. A 6% service charge applies to groups of ten or more at Smoke, and cakes are welcome with no cakeage fee.

How many guests can Smoke hold?
Up to 250 cocktail-style when you book Smoke Exclusive, which covers the indoor lounge and the rooftop balcony. Smaller semi-private options are the Indoor Lounge for 35, the South balcony for 40 to 60 and the North-West balcony for 70 to 90.
Can under-18s come to a function at Smoke?
No. Smoke is an 18+ venue. Rekōdo and House Bar on the lower levels allow minors with a legal guardian if you need an all-ages space.
What do function packages cost?
Canapé packages start at $50 per person for six pieces and go up to $80 for eleven, with a 20-guest minimum. Two-hour drinks packages start at $65 per person, and a bar tab is also available.
Do you host hens, bucks and 21st parties?
Yes. Barangaroo House takes hens and bucks parties and 21st birthdays; talk to the events team about which space and package suits your group.
Is there a dress code?
Smart casual applies across the building, and Smoke is dressier in the evening: thongs, slides, high-vis, tracksuits and gym wear are not allowed.
