About The Harold

The Harold is a two-level pub on Ross Street in Forest Lodge, on the edge of Glebe, that has traded since 1888 and was for decades the local for punters from the Harold Park track next door. It is a relaxed neighbourhood pub with a bistro menu of pub favourites, sport on the screens and a dog-friendly courtyard, and it sits a short drive from the CBD, Newtown and Balmain. Functions centre on The Saddlery, a light, spacious room on the upper level with a large private bar and bi-fold doors opening onto a wide wraparound balcony. It seats 56 or holds 120 for a cocktail party, and its TVs and sound system can run slideshows and speeches. Downstairs, The Courtyard is a beer garden with a roof that opens and closes, its own TV and AV, and space for 40 seated or 50 standing; dogs are welcome there too. Food runs from canapé platters sold by the platter, grazing boards, noodle boxes and sushi through to share-style roasts and seated dining, which starts at $65 per person for two courses and rises to $80 per person for three courses with more choices. Standard and premium drinks packages run for 1.5, 3 or 4 hours from $45 per person, and bar tabs are available with wristbands to identify your guests. A 25% deposit secures the booking, with final numbers and payment settled ahead of the event.
