About The Founders Room
The Founders Room is the event space on the top floor of Wanda Surf Life Saving Club at 2 Marine Esplanade, Cronulla. It sits only metres from the sand and looks out over Wanda Beach and the Pacific in a 180-degree sweep. The venue is fully licensed with in-house catering and hosts weddings, birthdays, engagement parties, christenings, corporate days and wakes. The main room is light and open, with a balcony running along the ocean side that works for pre-drinks, ceremonies and overflow. Standing events take between 75 and 450 guests, seated events up to 300, and a seated dinner with a band and dance floor up to 260. Inside you get air conditioning, a laser projector with a big screen, a trio of plasma screens, a pair of cordless mics and speakers covering both the room and the balcony. Furniture is supplied too: 200 chairs, 20 rounds, high bar tables with stools, and potted plants. A timber dance floor costs $450 and a white gloss floor $850. From Monday to Saturday the venue can be hired exclusively. Catering ranges from seated dinners and shared feasts to canapés and grazing, and bar service can be arranged in several ways; full menus and hire details are in the event guides downloadable from the website. Sundays run differently, with free live music on the balcony in the afternoon and no venue hire fee for smaller celebrations, though the space is shared with surf club members and other groups on those days.
