About Sylvania Bowling Club
Sylvania Bowling Club has been part of Sylvania since 1955, when founding members turned an old chicken farm on Holt Road into bowling greens. The clubhouse has a balcony looking over the greens, a Tree House bistro and a main bar, and it takes bookings for engagements, weddings, milestone birthdays, reunions, Christmas parties and team days. The main function room is the Sylvania Room, which doubles as the bistro and seats up to 100 guests. When booked for a function it is private, with its own bar, a dance floor and a PA with CD and DVD playback for speeches and music. The Holt Room is the smaller option, seating 30 or taking 45 to 50 for drinks and canapes, and it suits family gatherings, sporting club celebrations and small parties. Outside, The Lawn has ten tables: take the whole area as your own private space or reserve just a few tables for a relaxed afternoon. The function menu is built around canapes. The $18 per person package gives you three classic choices plus one premium, $23 per person covers three classic and two premium, and $30 per person includes four classic and three premium. Classic options include gourmet mini pies, mini quiches, cheeseburger spring rolls, arancini and mac and cheese croquettes, while the premium list has Angus beef sliders, lamb skewers and chicken satay skewers. A charcuterie table is $10 per person for groups of 20 or more, with fruit platters and mini cakes as extras. Planning is handled by the club's events and functions coordinator.
