About Stowaway Bar
Stowaway Bar has been pouring drinks in Freshwater since 2013, from a first-floor spot at 1-3 Moore Road. It is a locally owned cocktail bar and kitchen open seven days, with craft beer on tap, an easygoing wine list and food that runs from burgers, tacos and pizza to dumplings and a Sunday roast. Groups book one of two areas. The Main Hall takes up to 60, or 45 seated, on a mix of high chairs and low tables, and Old Stow takes up to 40, or 35 seated, across booths, couches and high chairs. Both open onto an outdoor balcony. The bar stays open to the public while your group is in, and bookings are normally a three-hour slot. The room is dark timber and warm lighting with a long back bar, and a DJ, solo musician or band can be booked for bigger nights. Access for wheelchairs and prams is from Moore Lane. Food is shared: fries, guacamole, tacos, calamari, arancini, cheese boards, pizza and an Asian-style run of dumplings, bao and karaage, with bigger shared mains priced on enquiry. Two-hour drinks packages cost $49, $60 or $80 per person depending on how far up the wine and cocktail list you go. Otherwise a minimum spend applies of $55 a head, rising to $75 a head from 6pm to 9pm on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays. A $100 deposit holds the date, final numbers are due five days out, and you can bring a cake for a small per-head fee.

Is there a minimum spend?
Yes, $55 per head, going up to $75 per head for bookings between 6pm and 9pm on Friday or Saturday nights and on public holidays. It covers the booking window rather than being an open tab.
What drinks packages are there?

Do we get the bar to ourselves?
No. Stowaway stays open to the public during trading hours, so groups book an area for a set time, usually three hours, and can often stay on afterwards.
What does it take to confirm a booking?
A $100 deposit secures the date and comes off the final bill. Final numbers are needed five days before, and cancelling at least a week out gets the deposit back.
