About Kalyx Lounge Bar & Club
At 123 Avoca Street, Kalyx Lounge Bar & Club is a cocktail lounge with a retro-futurist look, Randwick, mixing bohemian decor with cocktail culture. The night tends to start slow, with guests settled into the lounges over a drink, and builds towards dancing later on. Its program covers live music, downtempo sets, DJs, cabaret, touring artists and art exhibitions, and it is one of the few late-opening venues in the area. For parties, the venue has two levels that can be booked privately, and it also takes group bookings for particular lounges or tables. The rooms are dressed with Chesterfield sofas, velvet banquettes, vintage lamps and artwork, around a long backlit bar. There is a dance floor, and the in-house Translate Sound System has had careful acoustic treatment. Kalyx is strictly 18 and over, and the dress code is smart casual, with no flip flops. The bar opens from 6pm Wednesday to Saturday and from midday to 6pm on Sunday. Randwick Junction is a short walk away on the light rail from George Street, and buses 374, 358, 396 and 370 stop nearby. Street parking out front is available before 4pm, after 6pm and all weekend. To arrange a private booking, email the team or call to set up a meeting about the details.

What a amazing little hidden gem! Really cool atmosphere and the owner and staff were super friendly and inviting. Great place to go with a group of friends and chill on a couch in a dark corner.

This place impressed me. I went for a jazz night and was blown away by the talent, heaps of local musicians, creating this vibe that I haven't experienced before in Sydney. From what I saw many from surrounding unis, and…
