About Diamond Bay Bowling Club

Diamond Bay Bowling Club is a members' bowling club on Old South Head Road in Vaucluse that opens its function hall, verandah and greens to the public for private events. The club has run everything from engagement parties with a round of bowls to weddings, school formals, farewells, work drinks and bar and bat mitzvahs, and it keeps an air-conditioned clubhouse, a licensed bar, a cafe and on-site parking. The main room is the heart of it. Set up as a dance party it takes up to 450 guests, and more again once the outdoor areas come into play; seated with a dance floor it fits 180, and a canapé or buffet crowd of 80 to 400 can mix around bar tables and some seating. The hall splits into smaller sections, and one of those suits about 60 seated or 110 for canapés. Outside, the covered verandah and pergola seat around 60 or hold 80 standing, which works well on a fine day or for a bowls function. Hiring the main room includes the indoor space plus the verandah and pergola, with bar and floor staff; the greens stay open to other bowlers. Food is cooked in-house by the club's chef, who will build a menu around your budget, from grazing and finger food to buffets, barbecues, bento boxes, roasts and sit-down dinners, with vegetarian, vegan and kosher options (under the Kashrut Authority) available. Drinks are bought from the club bar at club prices. Barefoot bowls can be added for a group, with bowls, mats and an instructor supplied.
