About Brass Monkey
Brass Monkey is a live music venue, restaurant and bar that has run at 115A Cronulla Street since 1999. It sits below street level: you walk down a flight of stairs into a room lined with framed photos and posters from decades of gigs, and a stage kitted out with professional AV and lighting. On show nights it serves dinner to seated tables before the music starts. The room can be booked for exclusive use. Set up with canapés and standing space it takes up to 140 guests, and as a seated function it holds 70. The venue leans on its music industry contacts to book bands or solo performers for private events, and its stage, AV and lighting are also hired out for rehearsals and photo or film shoots. Food and drinks are supplied by the venue; outside food and drink can't be brought in. The venue opens only when a show or event is booked, so email is the reliable way to reach the team, at brassmonkeycronulla@gmail.com. The regular menu includes gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and the bar carries beer, wine, cocktails and spirits. Cronulla station is about a minute away, and street parking around Cronulla is free and untimed after 6pm. Access is by stairs from Cronulla Street; there is a back entrance on Croydon Street with four steps and a flatter laneway route for small wheelchairs, arranged with staff in advance.

Great spot, divey but not trashy, eclectic music history and art on the wall to read. Incredible sound clarity for the live bands. The Fleetwood cover show was worth the experience alone
