About Bistro Kai

Bistro Kai is a French and Japanese fusion restaurant and wine bar at 316 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood, about a six-minute walk from Chatswood station. It serves coffee and lunch through the day and dinner every night, with a list of cocktails, natural wines and Japanese and Scotch whiskies behind the bar. For a party, the restaurant can be taken over in two sizes. Half venue hire seats up to 20 guests for a four-hour booking and needs two weeks' notice, with a $2,500 minimum spend. Full venue hire seats up to 45, has no time limit and needs a month's notice, with a $5,000 minimum spend. Both are set up as seated dinners, and hosts are free to bring balloons, props, signage and other styling. Smaller groups of five to eight can book the separate KAI Private Room, a quiet walnut-furnished room with one long table and a 65-inch smart TV. Venue hire comes with a customised set menu served at the table, and the kitchen caters for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests if told in advance. Drinks sit outside the minimum spend and are charged as a package or on consumption, or guests can bring their own wine for $25 corkage a bottle. A 50 per cent deposit secures the date, and surcharges of 10 per cent on Friday to Sunday and 15 per cent on public holidays apply.
