About Mahan Art School
Mahan Art School is a Parramatta art school on Sorrell Street, founded in 1994 and led by artist and teacher Elham Ahmadi. Most weeks the studio is busy with classes for children, teens, adults and seniors, from painting and drawing to calligraphy and digital art, but it also turns into a party space for groups who want to spend an evening or afternoon painting together. The private adult party is the school's version of paint and sip. Your group has exclusive use of the studio for two and a half hours, and every guest gets the supplies they need to finish a painting. The team sets the room up with decorations chosen for the occasion, plays a curated playlist and has a photographer on hand to capture the event. It is pitched at baby showers, team-building sessions, small celebrations and nights out with friends, and beginners are welcome since no painting background is needed. Bookings start at ten people. For younger guests, kids' painting birthday parties run for two hours: about ninety minutes of guided painting followed by half an hour for cake and celebrations, with balloons, decorations, music and photography included. These suit ages five to seventeen, and parents are invited back for the final half hour. Food and cake are not part of the kids' package, and a deposit is taken to secure any private booking.

How much is a private paint and sip party?
Private adult parties are $75 per person with a minimum of ten guests, and a $200 deposit secures the booking. Kids' birthday parties are $69 per child, also for at least ten children.

Do we need painting experience?
No. The school's classes and parties are set up for all skill levels, and complete beginners are welcome to join in and take home their own painting.
Can we change or cancel a booking?
Changes and cancellations need to be made at least a week before the event during business hours. Later changes can attract extra fees for lost studio time and preparation.
