About Cork & Chroma
Cork & Chroma has been running paint and sip sessions since 2013, and its Sydney studio is on Holt Street in Surry Hills, just off Crown Street. The idea is simple: an artist leads the room through a painting step by step while everyone brings their own drinks and snacks. No painting experience is needed. Each public session features a set artwork, and everyone leaves with their own finished 40 x 50cm canvas. Public sessions run for about three hours in the evening, and you can book a seat for yourself or a group. For hens parties, birthdays, social clubs and team outings, the studio can be booked privately. Private events work like the public sessions, but the group has the space to itself and can choose any artwork from the catalogue, or pay extra for a commissioned painting. They are priced per person with a minimum of 10 paid seats, run for two to three hours, and are open to all ages. Evening private events can be arranged by contacting the studio well in advance, with a higher minimum. For hens groups there are hens-themed paintings and a sculpting workshop, and corporate clients can book painting, drawing, clay and craft workshops or creative cocktail hours, either in the studio or at their own venue. It is BYO for drinks and food. The studio supplies glassware, water, a fridge and display tables, but groups bring their own plates and serving gear. There is a self-serve tea bar. Street parking nearby is limited, so Central Station or the light rail is the easier way in.

How much does a paint and sip session cost?
Public sessions in Surry Hills are $69 for adults, $59 for ages 12 to 17 and $29 for children aged 3 to 11, excluding booking fees. Private events are priced per person with a minimum of 10 paid seats.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes, it is BYO. Wine, beer, cider, kombucha and soft drinks are all fine. Glassware, water and a fridge are provided, and a self-serve tea bar is available. Bring your own plates and napkins for food.
How long does a session take?
Public sessions run for about three hours. Private events run for two to three hours, and start and finish times can usually be adjusted with notice.
What is included?
A 40 x 50cm canvas to take home, paint, brushes, palette, easel and apron, plus step-by-step instruction from an artist.
How do private events work?
Your group has the studio to itself and picks any artwork from the catalogue. There is a minimum of 10 paid seats, a deposit is taken when booking, and evening events need to be arranged directly with the studio well ahead of time.
