About Art Masterclass Sydney
Art Masterclass Sydney works out of a shopfront studio at 191 William Street in Darlinghurst, one of three studios the business runs alongside Melbourne and Brisbane. The Sydney timetable covers BYO acrylic paint and sip classes, patterned ceramic painting, resin art and the workshop it is best known for, building a traditional Turkish mosaic lamp from coloured glass tiles and beads. No experience is needed: an instructor takes the group through each step and everyone takes their finished piece home. For groups, the studio hosts private classes for birthdays, hens parties, team building and Christmas parties. Private events need at least 8 guests and can take up to 35 at the venue, and the group can choose between the mosaic lamp and ceramic painting workshops, with paint and sip also on the menu. Public paint and sip classes cost $79 per person, while mosaic lamp and ceramic painting sessions start from $89 per person and the mosaic class runs for about two and a half hours. Resin art is $139 per person. The studio is BYO only, so bring your own wine, beer or bottled alcohol, since staff are not able to serve it. Small nibbles are welcome, though table space is limited, and private events can be set up with room for a grazing table. Apple tea and Turkish delight are served during classes. Canvas, paints, brushes and aprons are all supplied, so guests only need to turn up. It suits groups who want something calm and creative rather than a loud night out.
