About Castle Hill Bowling Club
Castle Hill Bowling Club was founded by members of the neighbouring Castle Hill RSL, and it still has the easygoing feel of a country bowls club even though it sits a short walk from the Castle Hill Metro. It belongs to CHRG, the Castle Hill RSL Group, whose other venues include Castle Hill RSL, Club Parramatta and Lynwood Golf & Country Club, plus a sports and wellness club. Alongside social and competitive bowls for members, it opens its greens and function space to parties and work groups. Barefoot bowls is the main event for groups. It is a relaxed take on lawn bowls that works for complete beginners and regular bowlers alike, and staff supply the bowls and scorecards and help first-timers get going. There are two greens: a natural grass green kept in rotation for an even surface, and an all-weather green under a modern roof with a high-performance playing surface, which keeps games going in wet weather and after dark. Tables and chairs line the greens, and the bar and Clubhouse Kitchen look straight out over them. For larger celebrations, the function room is a private space with natural light, a built-in stage, a data projector, free wi-fi and a big dance floor. It seats up to 180 guests or holds 250 standing, and the events team pairs it with catering for birthdays, baby showers, end-of-financial-year parties, team building days and Christmas functions. Bookings go through the club's enquiry form, with packages and pricing supplied on request. Visitors sign in with photo ID, and under-18s must stay with a responsible adult.
