About Rock 'n Bowl Manly
Rock 'n Bowl runs barefoot bowls at Manly Bowling Club on Raglan Street, about five minutes on foot from Manly Wharf, the Corso and the beach. It describes its green as the Northern Beaches' only child-free one, so it is set up for adult groups: birthdays, work socials, farewells and weekend catch-ups. All the bowls equipment is supplied, and shoes are optional on the green as long as any footwear is completely flat. Each session lasts an hour and 45 minutes. Groups of up to 15 get a run-through from a games officer and then play at their own pace. Book 16 or more people at least a week ahead and the session becomes a Round Robin, where your own games officer splits everyone into teams, keeps score and runs a finals round. The winners take home the Ashes trophy, and one unlucky team gets the Horse's Arse. Food and drinks are extra and come from the club. Share platters, such as sliders, wings and arancini, are ordered and prepaid at least 14 days out, and BYO is not permitted. Adults need photo ID to sign in, and children under 12 and non-bowling guests can watch from the club's other areas. Sessions go ahead in most weather, with ponchos supplied, and a council car park sits beside the club.

What is a Round Robin?

Do we need to know how to bowl?

Can children come along?

Sessions usually go ahead, as the greens handle wet weather and ponchos are provided free. Any decision to cancel is made by Rock 'n Bowl, and pre-ordered food must still be eaten at the club.

What an awesome place to have fun with friends. We bowled for almost two hours with the great help of the skipper. Fun game and heaps of laughs. Beer is cheap and the pub food is reasonably good and cheap too
