About Indy 800 Kart Track
Indy 800 Kart Track is a family-run outdoor circuit at the Butterfly Farm in Wilberforce, out in the Hawkesbury, and has been operating since 1997. The track runs for 800 metres and is eight metres across, mixing fast straights with S-bends, a hairpin and a run of sweeping corners, so there are chances to pass right around the lap. Alongside public kart hire, it hosts a club sprint series and practice days for drivers who bring their own karts. For a birthday, bucks outing or work group, kart hire is sold in 10-minute sessions, and each driver can book one, two or three of them. The single karts are OTK Vipers, open to drivers aged 13 or older who are at least 150cm tall and no heavier than 120kg; anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign them in. Two Sodi 2Drive dual karts let an adult driver take a passenger as young as four, and they suit carers too, since the driver controls the speed while the passenger can steer. Groups of five to nine drivers pay a $100 deposit to lock in a booking, and groups of ten or more pay $200, with the balance due a week out. Large and corporate groups can ask about times beyond the usual 5pm finish. Everyone on track needs closed lace-up shoes, long pants and at least a T-shirt, and must return a zero blood alcohol reading, so save the drinks for afterwards. If rain stops play, the unused value is returned as a gift voucher.

Frequently asked questions
How much does kart hire cost?
A 10-minute session is $35 for each driver, two sessions are $65 and three are $90. There is also a $5 yearly membership charge for each driver.
How old do you need to be to drive?
Single karts are for drivers aged 13 and up who are at least 150cm tall and weigh 120kg or less. Under-18s must be signed in and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Can younger children have a go?
Yes, as passengers. Two dual karts let an adult driver aged 18 or over take a child from four years old, and children aged four to six need proof of age. Book ahead, as there are only two.
What should our group wear?
Enclosed lace-up shoes, long pants and a T-shirt or long-sleeved top are required, so no singlets or crop tops. Loose items and hats come off, and long hair must be tied back and secured.
How do group bookings and deposits work?
Groups of five to nine drivers pay a non-refundable $100 deposit and groups of ten or more pay $200. Final numbers and the balance are due seven days before, and invoices with bank transfer are available for larger groups.
