About Urban Escapade
Urban Escapade is an escape room studio in The Cannery complex in Rosebery, run by self-described film lovers who treat each room like a movie set. The puzzles, props and stories are designed from scratch, and the rooms use fog, lighting and sound to pull players into the plot. No trivia or outside knowledge is needed, just communication and teamwork. There are two rooms to choose from. Kidnapped drops the team into 1920s San Francisco as private detectives hired to find a businessman's missing daughter; it is rated hard and takes two to seven players. Turbulence casts players as Air Marshals digging through an airport for evidence of a wider conspiracy; it is rated medium to hard, for two to six people. Both suit players aged 12 and over, children under 14 need an adult with them, and every minor needs a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Neither room uses horror, although Turbulence has some tense moments. Games run for about an hour, with roughly ten minutes more for the briefing and debrief. Every booking is private, the doors are never locked, and a game master follows along to offer hints on request. Larger parties can book both rooms at once, and the team hosts corporate events, birthdays and private functions, with group rates and custom options available on enquiry. Because the effects include low-level fog and flashing light, guests with photosensitivity, epilepsy or asthma should talk to the team before booking.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can play?
Kidnapped takes two to seven players and Turbulence two to six. Bigger groups can book both rooms at the same time; get in touch if you have more than seven for Kidnapped.
Is it suitable for kids?
The recommended minimum age is 12, though some 10 year olds have played with parents. Players under 14 need an adult with them, and all minors need a signed waiver.
Do you offer team building and group rates?
Yes. Urban Escapade hosts corporate events, birthdays and private functions, and quotes group rates and custom options when you contact the team.
Are the rooms scary?
No. Kidnapped has no scares at all, and Turbulence builds tension without horror or jump scares. Both use fog and lighting effects for atmosphere.
Can we reschedule a booking?
Rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before your game. Cancellations made within 24 hours aren't refunded, and late arrivals may lose some game time.
