About Narrow Escape Rooms
Narrow Escape Rooms is an independent escape room business on the first floor of a building on Castlereagh Street in the Penrith CBD. Its team designs and builds every game in-house, writing the stories and mixing traditional padlocks with electronic props. There are five games: Launch, a beginner-friendly mission to stop an alien attack; Undetected, a tech heist; The Inheritance, the hardest of the set, where players hunt for a missing will; The Hidden Temple, an Aztec adventure; and Mission Identity, a spy story about secret agents working out who they really are. Launch, Undetected and The Inheritance hold two to six players each, while The Hidden Temple and Mission Identity take up to eight. Booking several rooms in the same slot lets a party of up to 34 play together. Each room has a dedicated game master who follows along on camera and can hand out clues whenever a team is stuck, with no cap on how many you ask for. A visit runs to around 90 minutes, covering the briefing, an hour of play and a debrief with a photo in costume. For workplaces, the team building options range from a straightforward staff outing to a weekday package that adds pre and post surveys and a reflective session on how the group communicated. A tailored program run with an external coaching business is also offered. Children aged eight and over can play most rooms with an adult, which makes it a good fit for kids' birthdays, and Penrith's restaurants and bars are close by for dinner afterwards.
