About Next Level Escape
Next Level Escape runs escape rooms on the lower ground floor of 23 O'Connell Street in the Sydney CBD, with entry via the intercom. Every game was designed and built by the team, so you won't find them anywhere else, and most run for 75 minutes rather than the usual hour. A games master is assigned to your group for the whole session and interacts with you in character. The doors have emergency exit buttons, so nobody is actually locked in. There are several rooms to choose from. Ex Libris, a literary adventure for 2 to 12 players, has two identical copies, so bigger groups can play head to head. The Game takes 4 to 14 players split into two competing teams. The Artefact, an alien investigation, suits 2 to 8, End of the Road is a zombie convoy for 2 to 7, and Forest of Echoes is a 90-minute narrative game for 2 to 8 players aged 16 and over. Bookings are private, so strangers are never added to your session. Per-person rates start at $60 and vary with group size and day. To round out a birthday, work function or Christmas party, the venue sells game, food and drink packages at $130 per person with partner venues nearby, including Bar Luca, Fratelli Fresh Westfield and a private function space at Paradox Sydney. Allow about an hour and a half in total, arrive 5 to 10 minutes early for waivers and a briefing, and note that intoxicated players can be refused entry. Ex Libris and The Game are fully wheelchair accessible.
