About DJ Renkun
DJ Renkun is the working name of Ren, a Sydney DJ and MC who started his career at 18 in Canberra's nightlife scene. He spent time as head resident DJ at one of that city's biggest nightclubs before moving his focus to weddings and private events. Before DJing he played drums for more than eight years in several bands, and that musical background shows in the way he mixes. Clients work with Ren alone throughout the planning. Wedding couples get a music planning app and personal meetings, and every event is prepared in detail beforehand so the host is not left sorting out problems on the night. His sets lean on creative transitions and mashups, with music picked to suit the crowd, and he can run the microphone as MC and keep the timeline moving. Lighting can be scaled from soft atmosphere to a nightclub-style dance floor, and a compact digital photo booth with a custom backdrop is available. Corporate work covers end-of-year and Christmas parties, EOFY events, fundraisers, awards nights, gala dinners, product launches and fashion shows. He turns up suited, sets up neatly and moves from background music during dinner to high-energy sets later on. Corporate pricing usually starts from $1,500 plus GST, with weddings quoted higher.
