About Red Soda Band

Red Soda Band began as a small group of professional musicians who met at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and has grown into a wedding music company that has played more than 2,000 Sydney weddings since 2009. Its players are degree-qualified, and many have performed alongside international artists including Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue and Michael Bublé. Red Soda works on weddings only, and also operates in Boston and Toronto. The ceremony line-ups include a violin and cello duo, string trio, string quartet, harp, acoustic singer, vocal duo and several strings-with-vocals combinations, covering the processional, signing and recessional plus background music for about 15 minutes before the ceremony. For the reception you can book an acoustic singer or duo for drinks and dinner, a band from two to eight pieces for dancing, or a one- or two-piece DJ combo that pairs live music for key moments with a DJ for the dance floor. A five-piece, for example, has male and female vocals, guitar, bass and drums plus keys, lead guitar, sax or electric violin. Popular combinations range from an acoustic singer with a DJ for 20 to 60 guests, to an acoustic duo and eight-piece band for 150 to 300 or more. They will learn a custom first dance song and liaise with your planner, venue and AV company. Performance Details

Ceremony music covers the entrance processional, register signing and recessional, plus candle lighting and communion for church weddings, with background music for around 15 minutes before the ceremony as guests arrive. Reception music can cover cocktails and canapés, background music over dinner, the wedding party entrance, first dance and cake cutting, then a dance floor with a live band, a DJ or both. Band sizes run from two to eight pieces, and DJ combos pair live musicians with a DJ. MC services, lighting, extra musicians and larger line-ups can be added. The team liaises with your planner, venue and AV company on your behalf.
