About DJ Kelso
DJ Kelso is Brendan Kelso, a Sydney-based DJ and MC who has worked full-time behind the decks for more than ten years. He grew up in Newcastle, started out in school bands, and now plays around 80 to 100 weddings a year alongside corporate functions and private parties. Clients deal with him from the first enquiry to the final track, because he performs at every booking himself. His sets are open format, which means he moves between pop, house, R&B, hip hop, EDM, country and rock, and he is happy to dip into emo and pop-punk for the right crowd. The focus is on proper mixing and mashups rather than a list of songs played back to back. Couples and hosts plan their music through an online portal with unlimited song choices and catch-ups. As MC he works with the venue and suppliers, helps build the run sheet, introduces speeches and keeps the timings on track. For corporate clients he covers end-of-year and Christmas parties, awards nights, gala dinners, product launches and networking events, shifting from background music to a full dance floor as the night builds. Each booking comes with sound and lighting, a wireless microphone and a clean, modern DJ booth. Wedding packages start at $2,750, and corporate events are quoted to suit.
