About Camperdown Sound
Camperdown Sound is an audio visual hire and event production outfit working out of Camperdown in Sydney's inner west. Its stock centres on QSC powered speakers and subwoofers, Pioneer DJ controllers, media players and mixers, and a wide spread of lighting: wash lights, moving heads, lasers, water-effect projectors, mirror balls and smoke, haze and fog machines. Projectors and screens, stage panels, DJ tables, truss and generators round out the range, so one booking can cover the sound, the lights and the stage. For parties, the easiest starting point is one of the ready-made packs. A pair of QSC K12 speakers on stands suits a gathering of up to about 80 guests, while the Chill Out and Dance Floor packs add ambient or disco lighting, a mirror ball with a pinspot and a smoke machine. Each of those also comes in a DJ version with a Pioneer controller, and a wedding pack adds a low-lying cloud effect for the first dance. Bigger crowds can move up to multi-speaker QSC systems rated for several hundred people. Most customers collect and return the gear themselves at a booked half-hour slot in a secure car park on Missenden Road, which keeps the cost down. For those who would rather not lift a speaker, the team will deliver, set up, pack down and take everything away across the city, inner west and eastern suburbs, charged by the hour. Sound, lighting and AV technicians can stay for the event, and the business can also arrange a DJ, sax player, acoustic duo or jazz band.

What is the cheapest party sound option from Camperdown Sound?
The QSC K12 Speaker Pack is $120 and includes two 12-inch powered speakers, two stands, the XLR cables and a protected power board, sized for events of up to around 80 people.
Can Camperdown Sound deliver and set up the equipment?
Yes. Delivery, set-up, pack-down and return can be added to a booking for events in central Sydney, the inner west or the east, with other areas by enquiry. Courier delivery and return are each charged at $65 an hour during business hours and $95 an hour after hours, timed from when the crew leaves to when it gets back.
How does self-collection work?
Once the booking is confirmed you are given a half-hour window to pick up from the loading area of a private car park at 1 Missenden Road, Camperdown, and you bring the gear back to the same spot in an agreed slot at the end of the hire, when it is checked over.
Is there a bond, and what if the weather turns?
A $200 security deposit is paid before the gear leaves and is refunded within 5 to 10 business days after it is checked. For outdoor or exposed events with rain, storms, strong wind or extreme heat forecast, an extra $1,000 deposit applies for each speaker, subwoofer, CDJ, mixer or other item.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancelling 14 or more days before the event gets a full refund. Between 7 and 13 days out a 30% fee applies, 1 to 6 days out it is 50%, and cancelling on the day of the event means no refund.
