About Cottage & Co
Cottage & Co is Rachel Dunn's floral studio, based around Newcastle, the city where she was married. Designing the flowers for her own wedding led her to study floristry, and her work today is soft, romantic and a little whimsical: relaxed, garden-style arrangements in gentle colours, made with seasonal flowers and local blooms when they are available. Her blog rounds up Newcastle venues she admires, from Ravella and Newcastle City Hall to The Rooftop. Most of the work is weddings. Rachel makes bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, buttonholes and corsages, arches and aisle flowers for the ceremony and table arrangements for the reception, and her gallery shows flower-covered arbours, plinth pieces and candlelit tables. Send her your Pinterest and Instagram saves as a starting point; she then designs in her own style and picks the best flowers in season for your date rather than locking in particular varieties. Baby showers, proposals, birthdays and engagement parties get her flowers too, as do offices, shopfronts and hotels around Newcastle. Some simple styling pieces can be hired, including plinths, urns, candles and signage. Arbours cannot, so hire one elsewhere and Rachel will decorate it during set-up. Weddings have a $2,000 minimum spend. After the quote, a $500 deposit and signed service agreement lock in your date, the balance falls due 60 days before, and a detailed questionnaire is sent three to four months out. On the day Rachel delivers and installs everything, with extra helpers for bigger weddings, and she travels to the Hunter Valley and beyond.

Does Cottage & Co do weddings in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie?
Yes. Rachel is based around Newcastle, got married there herself, and provides wedding and event flowers across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, as well as travelling to the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and the Central Coast.
Is there a minimum spend?
Weddings start at a $2,000 minimum, which covers design, delivery and full setup on the day rather than a simple flower-only order.
How do we confirm a booking?
When you are happy with the quote, pay the $500 non-refundable deposit and sign the service agreement. Whatever remains is paid 60 days ahead of the day.
Can the order change after we book?
Yes. Additions are unlimited, while reductions are capped at a tenth of the first quote. Colours and styles can usually change until about two weeks out, when the flowers are ordered.
Can Cottage & Co provide an arbour?
Arbours are not part of the hire range, though plinths, urns, candles and signage are. Hire an arbour from another company and Rachel will dress it with flowers during set-up.
