About Functions by the Bay
Functions by the Bay is a dedicated events venue on the corner of Young Street and Plowman Place in Frankston, with a heritage-listed grandstand as its backdrop. The upper level looks out over Port Phillip, and the botanical gardens and Beauty Park nearby give couples options for wedding photos. There are three spaces across two floors. Upstairs, the Graham Room seats 150 guests or holds 250 for a cocktail event, and has built-in AV with a drop-down screen and a projector mounted in the ceiling. Downstairs, the Davis Room matches the Graham Room's numbers, and the Pod Bar seats 80 or takes 120 standing. Opened up together, the Davis Room and Pod Bar seat 250 or hold 350 for a cocktail party, and larger events can use all three spaces. Catering is handled in-house by Seeds Fine Foods. Choose from plated entrées, mains and desserts, a long list of finger food, grazing and boxed lunches, with gluten-free and vegan dishes marked through the menus. The venue runs a fully licensed bar, and the rooms are left plain so you can bring your own styling within the venue's conditions. Extra AV such as cordless mics and LCD screens, or a videographer to film the night, costs extra. The calendar covers birthdays and 21sts, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, Christmas parties, presentation nights, corporate dinners, fundraisers, expos and conferences. Can we decorate the room ourselves?
Yes. The rooms are set up as a blank canvas for you to style for the night, as long as decorations follow the venue's terms and conditions.
What AV is available for presentations?
The Graham Room has a drop-down screen and a ceiling-mounted projector built in. Cordless microphones, LCD screens and video recording of your event are available for an added charge.
