About Waves on the Beach
Waves on the Beach sits right on the sand at the Frankston foreshore, off Long Island Drive, with glass walls facing Port Phillip. The interior is relaxed and coastal, with comfortable furniture and a balcony that puts guests close to the water. For a private event the whole restaurant is yours. A seated event holds up to 70, leaving space for a small dance area that grows as numbers drop, and a finger food event can hold up to 120. Instead of room hire, each event has a minimum spend on food and drinks. It starts at $5,000 for weekday lunches and Monday to Thursday dinners between May and September, and rises for weekends, the warmer months and public holidays. Seated packages are three courses for $70 per person or four for $80, opening with a shared antipasto and alternating dishes such as lamb cigars, salmon and eye fillet. The finger food package is $80 per person, and the kitchen caters individually for guests with dietary needs. Every guest takes a four-hour drinks package covering unlimited beer, wine, sparkling and soft drinks, with spirits or a running bar tab added if wanted. Lunch runs from 12pm to 4pm and dinner from 6pm until 10pm or 11pm. Outside suppliers such as DJs, photographers and photo booths are welcome, and decorations can go in two hours before doors open. A $2,000 deposit secures the date, so send an enquiry to check availability.
