About Moving Melodies Entertainment
Moving Melodies Entertainment is DJ and MC Gideon, who lists the Mornington Peninsula among his service areas and has played weddings as far down as The Portsea Hotel. Weddings fill much of the diary, and he also plays school formals, engagements, club presentation nights, milestone birthdays and end-of-year work parties. Every booking begins with a free one-hour consult, face to face or on Zoom, covering the formalities and the music. Tracks can come from his Easy Select Song List or a Spotify playlist, and requests are welcome on the night. A call the day before runs through the order of events once more. The standard five-hour package is set up for under 100 guests: a Pioneer XDJ-RX3 controller, a pair of RCF 15-inch speakers, light tubes and uplights on a GigBar Move, haze, a black or white booth and a roving mic. For bigger crowds he adds subwoofers, moving-head lights and more uplights, and the music is already playing as guests arrive. As MC, Gideon announces entrances, speeches, the cake and the first dance, and stays in contact with the photographer and venue staff.
