About Sharon Tierney Celebrant
Sharon Tierney is an authorised marriage celebrant based in Mornington. She came to celebrancy after her own daughter married on Sorrento beach, and she now writes ceremonies with a relaxed, fun feel that put the couple's story at the centre. At a first meeting she gets to know the couple and talks through what they want. Each couple leaves with her wedding information pack, which holds sample vows, ring exchanges, readings, poems, rituals and music ideas to choose from. She offers three wedding ceremonies. The intimate ceremony covers the legal words and vows with the couple and two witnesses, and suits couples planning a destination wedding overseas. The Your Way ceremony suits casual weddings of up to 80 guests and adds the couple's story. The full ceremony for larger weddings of 80 or more adds rituals, readings and a rehearsal. Sharon also runs surprise weddings, where guests arrive expecting a party and find out moments before. She can provide the celebrant letter needed for a prospective marriage visa. On the day she dresses in black, navy or charcoal so she blends into the background, and she keeps things running smoothly so the couple can relax.

What do we need to bring to our first meeting?
Bring identification such as passports, birth certificates and driver licences, plus divorce papers if they apply. Once the deposit is paid, Sharon helps you complete the Notice of Intended Marriage.
Can Sharon run a surprise wedding?
Yes. Guests arrive thinking it is a birthday or engagement party and learn just before the ceremony that you are getting married. The legal forms are still signed by the couple well ahead of the day.
Can she help with a prospective marriage visa?
Yes. For engaged couples bringing a partner to Australia, Sharon provides the celebrant letter and legal paperwork the visa application needs, for $500.
