Abbie Frew is a marriage celebrant based on the Mornington Peninsula who began conducting weddings in 2012. A former school teacher and mother of three, she describes her style as relaxed and bubbly while staying professional, and she aims to keep couples calm through the planning months. Every ceremony is built around the couple's relationship and the tone they want. Some prefer a structured, formal service, others want something light-hearted where the guests laugh along, and Abbie writes to suit either. Planning starts with a no-obligation meet and greet in person or by video call. Next comes a planning meeting to lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage and check ID, and couples get access to her client portal with sample ceremonies and a guide to writing vows. A draft ceremony arrives in the months before the wedding, and Abbie checks in during the final week to run through the details. On the day she arrives early to coordinate with the other suppliers and guides the couple through each part of the ceremony. She brings her own PA system with Bluetooth for the music, presents a commemorative certificate, script and printed vow cards, and lodges the paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages afterwards. She can also help with visa applications where needed.

The Elopement/Micro Style package has one planning meeting and a shorter ceremony of about 15 minutes with the same PA, certificate and vow cards. Legals Only includes one meeting, the celebrant on the day, the certificate and lodgement with Births, Deaths and Marriages.

It is a small, intimate ceremony with Abbie, the couple and two witnesses aged over 18. The legal requirements are completed and the couple are free to celebrate afterwards, overseas or with a cultural ceremony.
How do the meetings with Abbie work?
Meetings can be face to face, by FaceTime or by Zoom. After a free meet and greet, a planning meeting covers the Notice of Intended Marriage and ID checks, and a draft ceremony is shared before the wedding for review.
