About Blue Moon Rods
Blue Moon Rods is a family business that has been driving couples to their weddings since 1991 in hot rods built for the job. All three cars share the same royal blue paint and chrome detailing, so they look like a matched set when they arrive at a ceremony together. The first limousine, a 1926 Studebaker, joined the fleet in 1997. It was hand-built by owner Jim, seats five passengers and runs a 350ci Chevrolet V8. The second Studebaker limousine follows the same styling but is wider and longer, giving seven passengers more legroom in the back. The third car is a 1928 Dodge Brothers Tourer, also built by Jim, with a supercharged 350ci Chevrolet V8 and room for four. Between them the three cars can carry the bride, the groom and a full bridal party. The owners like to meet couples before the day to talk through the venues, the photo locations and how many people need to travel, and the cars can be seen in person by appointment any day of the week. Blue Moon Rods is fully licensed and belongs to the Wedding Car Association of Victoria. Weddings are the core of the business, but the hot rods are also booked for school formals, debutante balls, after-wedding transfers and hens nights out. Prices are not published; each booking is quoted through the enquiry form after you choose the car, the date and the time.
