About Waltzing Matilda Hotel
The Waltzing Matilda Hotel, known locally as the Waltzy, stands where Heatherton Road meets Springvale Road in Springvale. Alongside its family bistro and Sports Bar with big screens and pool tables, the hotel has 18 accommodation rooms and three function spaces: the Banksia Room, the Banksia Boardroom and the Sports Bar. The Banksia Room is the main party space. It has a fully stocked bar, its own bathrooms and private entry, a stage, a DJ booth and a large dance floor with a disco ball and disco lighting, plus a projector, big screen and Bluetooth connectivity. It takes from 40 up to 250 guests cocktail style, 140 seated without a dance floor or 90 seated with one. The Boardroom suits smaller daytime meetings of up to 50. Catering covers cocktail parties, carvery buffets and sit-down menus. The three cocktail packages each run five hours with staff, a security guard, a cake and present table, AV, a selection of platters and an opening bar tab. Set menus are served alternately for 30 or more guests, and the buffet needs at least 40. Chair covers, table runners and a digital photo booth can be added, and the team can suggest a DJ and tailor a menu to your cultural preferences.

What are the cocktail packages?
Standard is $2,000 with six platters and a $400 bar tab, Premium is $2,500 with eight platters and a $650 bar tab, and Platinum is $3,000 with ten platters and an $850 bar tab. Each covers five hours, staff, a security guard, a cake and present table and AV with Bluetooth.
How much are the set menu and buffet?
The set menu is $50 per person for two courses or $55 for three, for at least 30 guests, with a children's option. The carvery buffet is $55 per adult for a minimum of 40 guests.
Can we have a DJ and dancing?
Yes. The Banksia Room has a DJ booth, stage, large dance floor with disco ball and lighting, and full AV including a projector and screen. The hotel lists a recommended DJ supplier.
Can guests stay overnight?
The hotel has 18 rooms with ensuites, and discounted accommodation is available for function guests.
