About The Coppin Room @ The Spread Eagle Hotel
The Spread Eagle Hotel has been trading on Bridge Road for more than 130 years, a corner pub with a front bar, restaurant, street-side beer garden and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Its first floor is given over to three private rooms, and the Coppin Room holds the most guests of the three. Trams 48 and 75 stop outside. The room has period details – a marble fireplace, a big mirror, tall windows with blinds – and is furnished with long timber tables and bentwood chairs. It seats 32 for a dinner or takes 50 standing for a cocktail party, with dedicated waitstaff and access to a semi-private bar. A plasma TV with USB and HDMI inputs, built-in Sonos speakers, a portable speaker and microphone, and adjustable lighting cover speeches and presentations. For a bigger party the whole upstairs level can be booked exclusively, joining the Coppin Room, the Corner Room and the Boardroom with a private bar and bathrooms for 62 seated or 80 standing. Bookings work on a minimum spend that varies with the day and time of year, starting at $500. Food can be a two or three course shared set menu, canapés by the piece, or dishes from the à la carte menu, and allergies are catered for with notice. Outside food and drinks are not allowed, but you can share a playlist for the room and arrive an hour early to decorate. The pub does not take bucks or hens bookings, and functions are not held on Wednesdays.
