About Sandy by the Bay
Sandy by the Bay is the function venue at the Sandringham Football Club clubrooms, on Beach Road at the northern end of the Trevor Barker Beach Oval. The room sits upstairs behind floor-to-ceiling glass, so guests look out across Sandringham marina and Port Phillip Bay on one side, with the city skyline in the distance. There is plenty of on-site parking. The venue works as one adaptable room with a wooden dance floor, a fully licensed bar and a balcony with seating that is often used for pre-dinner drinks or a wedding ceremony. It takes between 60 and 200 guests for a cocktail party, or up to 180 seated, and the in-house lectern, microphones, sound system, TVs and projector make it equally suited to speeches, presentations and conferences. A private room is set aside for wedding parties. Every function pays a $650 room hire fee, which covers five hours of venue use plus an hour either side for set-up and pack-down, AV, linen, basic centrepieces, a dressed cake table and cleaning. Cocktail packages start at $39 per person for seven canapés, seated menus run from $58 per person for two courses to $75 for four, and there are carvery and high tea options too. Drinks can be a package, a tab on the bar or guests paying their own way. A $500 deposit secures the date, and 21st birthday parties need a guest list and security. Wedding packages are also offered, with ceremonies on the balcony or inside.

How many guests can Sandy by the Bay hold?
The room takes a minimum of 60 guests and up to 200 for a cocktail function, or up to 180 for a seated event. For weddings it seats up to 160 without a dance floor and 140 with one.
What is included in the room hire?
Every function carries a $650 room hire fee. It covers five hours in the venue, an extra hour before and after for set-up and pack-down, AV (TVs, projector, microphones and sound system), linen, basic centrepieces, cleaning and an event manager with service staff.
What food packages are offered?
Cocktail packages are $39, $41 or $43 per person for seven to nine canapés. Seated menus are $58 per person for two courses, $68 for three and $75 for four, and there is also a carvery package at $60 per person and high tea from $35 per person.
Are there rules for 21st birthday parties?
Yes. Hosts of a 21st must supply a guest list, and the venue requires security at those parties.
How do I confirm a booking?
Return the signed booking agreement with a $500 deposit. You can also call the team to arrange a tour of the room before you book.
