About Dooley's Irish Bar @ Monash Hotel

The Monash Hotel sits on Dandenong Road in Clayton, a local pub with a family bistro, on-site accommodation and Dooley's Irish Bar. Dooley's is a timber-panelled Irish bar that doubles as the hotel's private function room, and it closes to the public on Saturdays so it can be booked for events. The room takes up to 300 guests for a cocktail party or 90 seated. Hirers get an exclusive entry, private bathrooms and a fully stocked island bar, plus a stage with lighting and a dance floor, pool tables, a projector and AV system, and an undercover licensed smoking area. There's plenty of parking on site, and guests travelling in can book a room behind the hotel. Three room packages each run for five hours with food and beverage staff, linen, the projector and AV: Basic at $1,200 for up to 40 guests with four platters and a $200 bar tab, Premium at $1,500 for up to 60 with six platters and a $300 tab, and Exclusive at $2,000 for up to 80 with eight platters and a $500 tab. Larger groups can build their own: canapé selections are $25, $30 or $35 per person, a two or three course set menu is $46 or $56 per person for 30 or more, and carvery buffets are $45 or $55 per adult for 40 or more. Drinks packages start at $45 per person for three hours. Security may be required at management's discretion for $300.

Room packages are $1,200 (up to 40 guests), $1,500 (up to 60) and $2,000 (up to 80), each for five hours with platters, staff, AV and a starting bar tab. Canapé selections are $25, $30 or $35 per person; set menus $46 or $56 per person; buffets $45 or $55 per adult. Additional platters range from $70 to $120. Security, when required, is $300.

Food

Canapés include pies, sausage rolls, dim sims, quiches, satay chicken skewers, arancini-style croquettes and crumbed prawns, with sliders, fish and chips and mini pizzas as handheld add-ons. Set menus are served alternately, and the buffets feature a carvery, hot dishes and desserts. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are marked and other dietaries are handled with notice.

Beverages

Standard drinks packages cover tap beer, house wines and soft drinks for $45 per person (three hours) or $50 (four hours); premium packages add more beers and wines for $55 or $65. A cocktail on arrival is $15 per person. Bar tabs are included in each room package and can be topped up.
