About Bunjil Place

Bunjil Place is a civic arts and events precinct on Patrick Northeast Drive in Narre Warren, home to a theatre, a gallery, a studio and a dedicated Function Centre. Its Function Centre is the room hired out for weddings, fundraising nights, dinners and private celebrations. The room can be laid out three different ways and split by an operable wall, so it works for a mid-sized dinner as well as a full-house party. Portable staging, a dance floor and a mobile bar can be brought in to suit the night. Capacity runs to 250 for a banquet, 200 for a banquet with dance floor and stage, 200 for a buffet or cabaret, 350 theatre style and 430 for cocktails. For corporate work, meeting rooms take small groups and the wider precinct handles events of up to 400 delegates. Catering is handled in-house, with a range of food and beverage packages, and the events staff help work out a seating plan that matches your numbers. Christmas packages cover cocktail, plated and buffet menus with festive table touches. Audio-visual equipment includes a live camera feed, a lectern, lapel and roving microphones, public Wi-Fi and hearing assistance, with an in-house technical team on hand. Guests park free on site, and you can send an enquiry for the Functions Hirer Kit with capacities, packages and equipment.

Frequently asked questions

How many guests does the Bunjil Place Function Centre hold?

Up to 430 for a cocktail event, 350 theatre style and 250 for a banquet. With a dance floor and stage set up, a banquet seats 200, as do buffet and cabaret layouts.

Can the room be made smaller?

Yes. An operable wall divides the Function Centre, and it has three set layout sizes, so smaller events don't rattle around in the full room.

Is catering included?

Food and drinks are arranged in-house, with catering and beverage packages to choose from. The details are in the Functions Hirer Kit, which you can request by sending an enquiry.

What audio-visual equipment is there?

The room has current presentation technology including a live camera feed, a lectern, and lapel and roving handheld microphones. An in-house technical team supports events, and hearing assistance and public Wi-Fi are available.
