About Bridge Inn Hotel
The Bridge Inn Hotel sits on the corner of Plenty Road and Bridge Inn Road in Mernda. The original brick hotel has been restored, and a modern extension at the back houses the bistro, lounge and sports bar. For private events there are two areas to choose from. Dehnert's Room is upstairs and fully private, seating 36 or holding up to 60 for drinks and canapés. Guests get their own bathrooms, a temporary bar, music and TVs fixed to the walls. The Bistro is the larger option, an open-plan room with an alfresco area outside. It suits stand-up parties of roughly 60 to 120 guests, though it is not set up for seated functions. Catering is built around share platters, with ten styles to pick from in 40-piece or 60-piece sizes. Choices run from arancini, tartlets and quiche to pies, sausage rolls, wings, spring rolls, croquettes and beef sliders, and you can also mix individual items. Guests drink from the bar, and a tab can be set up that is settled when the function wraps up. Outside food and drink are not allowed, apart from a celebration cake, which staff can cut and serve for a small fee. Both spaces can be booked for breakfast, lunch or dinner from 7am to midnight, seven days. The functions coordinator helps with planning – send an enquiry to book.

How many people fit in each function space?
Dehnert's Room upstairs seats 36 or takes up to 60 standing. The Bistro handles cocktail-style events of about 60 to 120 guests but is not used for seated functions.
What does it cost to book a space?
Dehnert's Room has a $200 room hire fee. The Bistro has no room hire, but a $3,500 minimum spend applies on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Can we have a DJ?
Yes, if your group has the space to itself. From 10pm a DJ or other amplified music can play; before that the pub's own background music runs through the building.
Can we bring a birthday cake?
A celebration cake is the one outside food item allowed, and staff will keep it in the fridge until it is needed. Cutting it onto platters costs $1 a head, or $4 a head plated with cream.
How is a booking confirmed?
A tentative hold lasts seven days. The booking is locked in with a signed booking form, the terms and conditions and a $200 deposit, and a $200 bond may also be asked for.
