About Yugen Tea Bar
Yugen Tea Bar sits alongside Yugen Dining and Omnia Bistro on Chapel Street in South Yarra and is run by LK Hospitality Group. It does not open as a walk-in cafe: the space is used only for private events, which means a group booking has the dark, sculptural room to itself. Small celebrations are its focus, from birthdays and bridal or baby showers to team workshops and product launches. The high tea package is the venue's signature format. Guests share a spread of savoury and sweet bites over a relaxed afternoon, a more contemporary take on the traditional tiered tea. The room can be set for seated dining for up to 20 people, or arranged for a cocktail-style gathering where guests move around. Catering is handled entirely by the in-house team, who work out the food and drinks with you, so there is no need to organise outside suppliers. Because every booking is bespoke, the events team plans each one individually and can arrange a tour of the venues beforehand. For groups who want something to do as well as eat, the venue runs short guided experiences that can open or close the event. Each lasts about 30 minutes and covers one theme: Japanese teas and matcha, a tea and cheese pairing, an introduction to shucking oysters, or a hands-on pastry session with the kitchen team. These suit a bridal shower that wants a shared activity, or a work team after something more interactive than lunch.
