Party DJ Hire is a Melbourne DJ booking agency with a roster of mobile DJs who travel to parties, weddings and functions all over the city. Each DJ turns up with a full kit – decks, party speakers, laser lighting, a microphone for speeches and a smoke machine on request – so the host only has to supply a table and a nearby power point. The team spans a wide range of styles. Some DJs favour funk, soul, disco, hip hop and old-school R&B, others play house, retro and current chart music, and the agency also books DJs for Greek weddings and for Bollywood, Punjabi and Indian celebrations. You can send through preferred genres, must-play songs and tracks to avoid, and the DJ treats that list as a guide while reading the dance floor on the night. Booking starts with an enquiry, and a quote with its inclusions comes back within 24 hours. The DJ gets in touch the day before to confirm the plan, arrives 45 to 60 minutes ahead of the start time to set up, and packs everything away in roughly 20 to 30 minutes once the music stops. A 50% deposit holds the date, with the balance due 14 days out. Beyond DJs, Party DJ Hire books wedding MCs to handle announcements, speeches and the running order of a reception, and it can add photo booths and special effects such as indoor pyrotechnics, CO2 cannons, confetti and dry ice. Does Party DJ Hire publish set prices?
No. Each event is quoted on its own, since set length, equipment level, day of the week and travel distance all change the cost. Send an enquiry and a quote listing the inclusions comes back within 24 hours.
What do I need to provide for the DJ?
Only a table, such as a trestle table, and access to a power point. The DJs carry their own extension leads, so the power point does not need to sit right beside the setup.
What equipment does the DJ bring?
Each DJ arrives with decks, party speakers, laser lighting, a microphone for speeches and a smoke machine if you want one. Bigger events of more than 150 guests may call for extra lighting and a subwoofer.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit is due within three days of signing the contract, and the remaining balance is paid 14 days before the event. You can pay by bank transfer or credit card, with a 1.9% surcharge on card payments.
Can I hire the sound gear without a DJ?
No. Party DJ Hire does not rent out DJ or sound equipment by itself. The speakers, decks and lights come with the DJ you book, who sets them up and packs them away again.
