About XLENT Events
XLENT Events is a Brunswick-based entertainment company that sends costumed character performers to children's parties around Melbourne. The team of about 25 performers has more than 100 characters to draw on, from princesses and superheroes to life-sized animal mascots and seasonal visitors for Christmas, Easter and Halloween. The performer comes to you – a lounge room, backyard, hired hall or park – and stays in character from arrival to goodbye. Three party packages are on offer. The 30-minute Character Party Pop-In is a short visit with a lively entrance, a spotlight moment for the birthday child and plenty of photos. The 45-minute Interactive Party Experience adds three or four party games set to music, while the 60-minute full-show package runs with four or five themed games, storytelling, a personalised message from the character, up to three song requests and a question-and-answer segment. Games are matched to the character: superhero training and power poses, freeze dance, musical statues, limbo, the floor is lava, red light, green light and treasure hunts. Bubbles mark the entrance, and the performer brings Bluetooth speakers and a microphone, so you don't need a power point. Characters with visible faces, such as princesses and superheroes, perform solo; full-body mascots need a second team member to guide them and host the games. Each booking starts with a conversation about your party theme so the character, music and activities fit the day. Travel is charged on top of the package price and depends on where the party is. Frequently asked questions
How long should a character visit last?
XLENT suggests an hour at most for young guests, because the games are fast and physical. The 30- and 45-minute packages suit smaller groups or a quick surprise appearance.
Do I need to provide a speaker or power?
No. The performer brings Bluetooth speakers and a microphone, plus bubbles for the entrance, so the party can run in a backyard or park with no power point nearby.
What is the difference between standard and premium characters?
Standard characters such as princesses, fairies and superheroes have visible faces and perform on their own. Premium characters, such as full-body mascots and giant robot costumes, need a helper to guide them and host the games.
Is travel included in the package price?
No. Travel and GST are added to the package price, and a travel charge applies when the party is more than 30 km from the team's base. Bookings with a mascot and a host may carry travel for two entertainers.
Does XLENT also do face painting or balloon twisting?
No. XLENT focuses on character performance, games, dancing and movement, so book a separate face painter or balloon artist if you want those at the party as well.
