About Impressive Platters
Impressive Platters is a family business that grew from a founder delivering homemade sandwiches by trolley into a full catering kitchen in North Melbourne, close to the CBD. It focuses on corporate clients and handles everything from a boardroom lunch to conferences, cocktail functions and staff Christmas parties. For functions, the menu leans on food that suits standing guests: hot finger food such as mini pies, arancini and quiches, cold bites like bruschetta and tartlets, skewers, rice paper rolls, sushi, street-food tubs and generous sharing platters of cheese, charcuterie and fruit. Buffet meals, soups and celebration cakes round it out, and seasonal menus appear for Christmas and the end of the financial year. Larger events can be handed to a dedicated events planner, who builds a canapé menu to the budget and theme. The kitchen can also supply wait and bar staff or a function supervisor, alcoholic and soft drinks, glass hire and ice, buffet warmers, crockery and other equipment, so the food arrives with the service to match.
