About Neale's Spit Roast Catering
Neale's Spit Roast Catering is a family-run caterer based in Hoppers Crossing. Neale started out as a teenager in his parents' butcher shop, trained as a butcher, ran his own shops for years and eventually sold up to focus on catering. The crew today is made up of relatives, cousins, friends and neighbours, and the kitchen is registered with the City of Wyndham. The spit roast is the core offer. Roast beef and lamb come with brown gravy, pork with crackling and apple sauce, and chicken is served as thigh and drumstick pieces. Groups of 30 to 49 pick three meats, four salads or vegies and three desserts; 50 adults or more get four meats, seven sides and four desserts. Jacket potatoes, buttered bread sticks and condiments are included, and desserts run from cheesecake and pavlova to black forest cake and fruit salad. Meat is cooked and carved at the kitchen, packed hot into foil trays and insulated boxes, and set up buffet style 15 to 30 minutes before serving. Hosts supply a couple of tables and serving utensils, and no power is needed for the roast. BBQ packages run from snags and burgers up to scotch fillet steak, while the finger food menu is cooked fresh on site with fryers the team brings along. The chicken, lamb and beef come from certified Halal butchers, and many salads and vegies are vegan or gluten-free. Plates are sugar cane and cutlery is bamboo, with real crockery and washing-up staff available as an extra.

How much meat does Neale's allow for each guest?
The spit roast is portioned at 300 grams of meat per person. You can add 25% more meat for a small extra charge per head, or swap the desserts for extra meat at no cost.
Does Neale's Spit Roast Catering cook on site?
The spit roast and BBQ menus are cooked at the registered kitchen in Hoppers Crossing and delivered hot. Finger food is the exception: staff fry it fresh on site, so they need power and an oven.
Is a deposit needed to book Neale's?
No. You secure the date with approximate details, then confirm the menu, times, address, dietary needs and payment about a week before the event. Payment can be by EFT, card over the phone or cash.
Can Neale's look after vegan, gluten-free and Halal guests?
Yes. The chicken, lamb and beef come from certified Halal butchers, the salad bar is vegetarian with several vegan and gluten-free choices, and gravy can be left off to keep the beef and lamb gluten-free.
Will the Neale's team stay and serve the meat?
Standard bookings are delivered and set up buffet style for guests to help themselves. Staff can stay to carve and serve for a flat extra fee, and a crockery package includes serving, clearing and washing up.
