About Party Boat Cruises
Party Boat Cruises is a family-owned charter business working out of Docklands, with a team that has spent more than two decades in events and hospitality. It runs two function boats and takes private groups of 20 to 180 guests for birthdays, engagement parties, work functions, client nights, Christmas parties and hens or bucks celebrations. The smaller boat, Citrus Lady, suits 20 to 75 guests and has an open-air rooftop above a lower deck, along with a DJ and AV set-up, a licensed bar and a generous dance floor. Carol Dee takes up to 180 and works in any season: the lower deck can be closed in and heated or opened up through retractable windows, there is air-conditioning downstairs, a skylight roof, a PA covering both levels and a bar built for quick service. Both boats arrive set up with tables, chairs and linen, so the planning mostly comes down to food and drinks. Groups can choose an all-inclusive food and beverage package, run a bar tab to a set amount (topping it up or switching to a cash bar if it runs dry), or let guests buy their own drinks against a minimum spend, adding food from the function menu. Cruises leave from Harbour Esplanade in Docklands and head along the Yarra, under the Bolte and West Gate bridges and out towards Williamstown before turning back past Port Melbourne. The operations managers handle each booking from enquiry to the day, and the skippers look after safety and the route on the water.
