About Melbourne Boat Parties
Melbourne Boat Parties is the charter brand behind the MV Calypso Lady, a two-level function boat that cruises the Yarra River with room for up to 130 guests. The whole boat is booked by one group, so the layout, food and drinks are set up around your event instead of a public timetable. The lower deck is fully enclosed, with a dance floor, a built-in stage and surround sound speakers, and the bar sits right next to the dancing. Upstairs is a roofed observation deck that stays open to the air, so guests can step out with a drink and watch the city towers slide past. The events team shapes each booking by phone. Corporate groups can tailor a function to suit their workplace, couples can hold a wedding celebration aboard with finger food and a well-stocked bar, and the boat is set up for birthdays and end-of-year Christmas parties. For school formals the team can run a fully catered night with no alcohol, entertainment included, and take care of the organising. The boat also hosts sip-and-paint nights run with an art partner, with finger food and a drinks package on a two-hour Yarra cruise. For parties that outgrow 130 guests, the business has a working arrangement with Victoria Star Cruises and can point bigger groups to that larger vessel. To plan a charter, call the events team or send the enquiry form with your date and guest numbers.
